Description
This invasive species was brought over from the Mediterranean. The whole of this plant is edible not just the flowers and leaves. It is not a very common plant but where it gets established it is usually prolific. The first growth usually starts in late October through to November and the flowers around March. Catch the bulbs from late May to October and pickle them. These beautiful flowers make a salad taste beautiful as well as making lovely decoration.
